UH students are working with Patient Care Intervention Center (local non profit) on a project to predict level of impact/risk in disastrous events (such as COVID19 and Harvey) for different communities in Harris County. This is an effort to use big data to support informed decision making in disaster relief. We’ve combed through 12K+ variables from multiple data sources (social demographic and medical), selected 200+ high impact variables and developed an interactive map for each census tract in Harris County to visually present risk index within a community.
