Seminar Series
The HPE Data Science Institute hosts a seminar series twice a month on topics of interest to data researchers, faculty and students in the UH community. The Society for High Performance Computing Professionals partners with the Institute to bring lauded experts in the field of data science to UH to discuss topics of interest. Recently, the Geophysical Society of Houston has also joined with the Institute, engaging those in the petroleum engineering field on campus and throughout the community with data science solutions.

XSEDE Workshop
XSEDE, the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment, is the most advanced, powerful, and robust collection of integrated digital resources and services in the world. It is a single virtual system that scientists and researchers can use to interactively share computing resources, data and expertise. XSEDE integrates the resources and services, makes them easier to use and helps more people access them.

MATLAB Workshop
HPE Data Science Institute hosts Mathworks regularly to conduct complimentary seminars in the area of data science and visualization. Through live demonstrations and examples, the seminars explain how MATLAB can help users become more effective in their work. These sessions are targeted for those who are new to MATLAB. However, experienced MATLAB users may also benefit from the session as some tips and tricks from the newer releases of MATLAB are covered. Additionally, the latest MATLAB-based tools and resources are discussed.

NVIDIA Workshop
The world of computing is experiencing an incredible change with the introduction of deep learning and Artificial Intelligence. Deep learning relies on GPU acceleration, both for training and inference, and NVIDIA delivers it everywhere you need it, to data centers, desktops, laptops, the cloud and the world’s fastest supercomputers.
