Micro-credential FAQ

Launched as a joint effort between the Division of Research and the Office of the Provost, the HPE Data Science Institute is built on the dual pillars of research and education. Education at HPE DSI covers everything from intensive graduate programming to K-12 outreach.

Courses are offered during different semesters, and there isn't a fixed cycle. To ensure efficient completion of micro-credential requirements, prospective participants should check the availability of courses each semester and plan their pathway accordingly.

The Micro-credential in Data Science focuses on foundational skills in data management, Python programming, data visualization, and machine learning. The Advanced Data Science Micro-credential builds on these with more complex topics such as data analysis in R, deep learning, and scientific computing using Julia.

Consider your current skill level, career goals, and areas of interest. If you're new to data science, the foundational Micro-credential in Data Science might be a good starting point. If you already have a solid background, you might opt for the Advanced Data Science or Artificial Intelligence Micro-credentials.
